“If we teach today’s students as we did yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.” – John Dewey

At the Shikhar & Kristin Saxena Foundation we support teachers and implementing innovative teaching strategies in the classroom!  We were very excited to award Teaching Innovation Grants to Brownell Talbot College Preparatory School teachers:  Betsy Peterson, Matt Low and Cassie Grant on September 10th!

Ms. Peterson applied for a grant to fund a 7th grade field trip to explore local historical markers such as the Mormon Trail and Union Pacific Railroad museum that relate to their study of the US Westward Expansion movement.

Mr. Low requested funds for creating a de-centralized writing classroom for middle and upper school students to foster student collaboration and hands-on learning activities.

Mrs. Grant was submitted a proposal to support project-based learning for the preschool through 5th grade classes.

Congratulations to these amazing teachers!  We are so appreciative of your hard work and dedication to bringing innovative learning strategies to your students.
